The stars in our star garnets are caused by an optical effect called asterism, and only appear when a pin-point of light or rays of sunlight appear directly on them. This special effect is caused by needle-like inclusions in the stone appearing as arms of a star and reflecting light outward. Stones may feature up yo 12 arms and multiple stars!
