Italian Micro-Mosaic Floral Brooch

This Italian Micro-Mosaic Floral Brooch features a bouquet of multi-colored roses against a field of vibrant blue. It's detailed with gold-filled roped scalloped embellishments alternating in aqua and red with dark blue and white swirls. Brooches like this one, often handmade crafted in Rome, Florence or Venice, became popular souvenirs during the European Grand Tour era in the 19th and 20th centuries. This one dates from the 1950s. Some minor wear on back so that silver alloy underneath, most likely 800 silver, is very slightly visible on the back underneath the gold (shown, photos not retouched).
