Cinnabar, Mother of Pearl & Garnet Sculptural Pendant Necklace

This is an awesome 80s era cinnabar, mother of pearl and pyrope garnet sculptural pendant set in sterling silver. We've paired it with a 4MM l18" black leather cord necklace with silver lobster clasp to update the look for 2026. The traditional Chinese carvings in the cinnabar symbolize long life, abundance, and beauty.

Cinnabar in its ancient form (mercury sulfide), was the go to bright red for paint, ink, cosmetics, burial rituals, alchemy, etc. across prehistoric and ancient cultures. All this despite the fact that people were poisoning themselves. Now cinnabar is created using layers of red lacquer, which can then be carved. It's vintage 1980s, so it won't kill you.

The back of the sculptural pendant features a maker's mark for designer Ancient Echos and a 925 silver stamp.
