"White Rabbit" 925 Silver and Marcasite Lapel Pin/ Pendant Necklace

This 925 sterling silver "White Rabbit" Brooch is charming and delightful. Like other parts of this collection, it sat under wraps since the early 70s and was probably n the collection long before that. The 925 stamp as well what could be a maker's mark is visible on the reverse. Not to be confused with an Avon fake jewel pin of the same general size, this is real sterling silver.

The lapel pin is in a style that puts it as part of a resurgence of sterling silver and marcasite brooches from the 1950s. This resurgence included figures of: women walking dogs, Spanish dancers, faeries, ballerinas, women in hats, woman at vanity mirrors, and people on old-time bicycles. Many more were animals, ribbons and women's accessories like cat-eye glasses or purses.
