A part of the feldspar group of stones, andesine-labradorite is also known as "Red Labradorite". There was some confusion upon its discovery about whether it was either labradorite or andesine. (Long story short, it's overall closer to labradorite.) Like other labradorite, it may contain an almost imperceptible metallic "schiller", a faint shimmer within the stone that adds to its allure.

It often contains other colors and bi-color andesine-labradorite displays its own special beauty.
