Gem Meaning: White sapphires symbolize clarity of thought, wisdom and the ability to overcome obstacles. Often mistaken for diamonds, white sapphires have a slightly lower refractive index than diamonds, but much higher than most other gemstones. They're also the birthstone for September.

Although sapphires come in many different colors (blue, pink, purple, orangey red, blue/green, yellow, white) white sapphires owe their sparkle to the bare minimum amounts of titanium and iron in their chemical makeup. No wonder they symbolize clarity!
